Privacy policy
This policy is for holdtheslot.com. Hold the Slot is a Starter Birds product. We keep the list small. We do not sell it.
Last updated 28 October 2026.
What we collect
Operator name, book name, hours, hold amount, email, city, and notes you type into our back office or the start form. Client name, who the hour is for, email, lesson label, slot, and hold status. Login cookies for our back office. Server logs that include IP address and the page requested.
Payments
Cards are entered on Stripe. We do not store full card numbers. We store Stripe ids so we can match a plan or a hold to a book. Holds are charged on the operator's connected Stripe account. The $29 plan is charged on the Hold the Slot platform account.
We use email to confirm a hold, to send an operator their desk and key, and to answer support. We do not send SMS. We do not sell addresses.
Cookies
Our back office uses a session cookie so you stay logged in. The public book and desk use a short token so forms stay honest. We do not run an ad pixel out of the box.
Analytics
The site counts page views on our own server so Hold the Slot's systems can show traffic. If the owner pastes a Google Analytics 4 Measurement ID, Google also receives page views for holdtheslot.com. We do not sell that data. You can ask hello@holdtheslot.com to turn Google off.
How long we keep it
Books and holds stay while the operator's plan is useful and for a reasonable time after so a dispute can be answered. You can email hello@holdtheslot.com to ask for a copy or a delete of your operator record. We may keep a thin billing record because the law and Stripe require it.
Processors
Stripe processes payments. The site is hosted on Spaceship. Email may go through the host or an SMTP box we name in settings. Those companies see what they need to run their piece and nothing more from us on purpose.
Children
The software is for operators and the adults who book them. If a student name is stored, it is because an adult typed it. Do not use Hold the Slot if you are under 16.
